Year 5 loved having Lydia in from Groundworks to help us create our own wild flower seed paper. This linked in perfectly with our PSHE theme of Citizenship and taking responsibility to “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”.
Well done to all this week’s amazing winners!
Y5 have been exploring how Christians believe that God is a creator and we read up about the creation story. We wanted to share this with Y2 so we made an interactive wheel to show them what Christians believe.
Today, Y5 took part in a zoom event celebrating the achievements of Katherine Johnson who was a phenomenal mathematician. She was instrumental in helping to achieve space travel and was considered a “human calculator”.
Inspired by the session, Y5 created their own symmetrical patterns based on the activities in the zoom meeting.
Last Wednesday, Year 3 visited Temple Park to take part in a multi skills festivals. We had a great time practising multiple skills including throwing, catching, balancing and dribbling just to name a few! All the children had a great time and showcased their skills in front of other schools in South Tyneside. Well done to all the children who took part 🏐🎾
To help us practise our new vocabulary about our routine, we played a silly sentence dice game. The first roll told us what time it was, the second was our action and the third was our adverb.
We had some funny sentences such as “A Minuit, je mange mon petit déjeuner vite” which translates to “At midnight, I eat my breakfast quickly”
Year 5 were “ très bon” learning and performing a song all about our daily routine
Year 5 had a busy day visiting The Word to explore our programming unit using the Lego Spike kits. The children were amazing at follow the instructions, building the Spike robots and creating code to make their robots move.
Party day was a huge success and everyone had a fab time!
This week, Year One, Year Two and Year Three joined together for our Christmas production, ‘Lights, Camel, Action!’ All of the children were a fantastic and had learnt their lines and dance routines.
