Year 2 have had a fantastic day celebrating Children in Need and had a great time completing different activities in the classroom. We also loved completing the Pudsey Challenge yourself to 25 which was spread around school. Our favourite was 25 seconds of dancing!
Year 1 have been exploring the local area and after a visit to the windmill, we looked at different types of windmills and their parts. We then designed and made our very own windmills with moving sails. We think they are wonderful!
The children in Year 1 have been learning all about Cave Baby in English and made their very own books about him. They were so good they all had to show Mrs Marshall them and get a special sticker each!

This week in Year 2 we have been investigating a pumpkin. We estimated how many seeds would be in the pumpkin and had to find out the best way to count them. It was great fun!
We found there was 450 seeds in our pumpkin and we counted them in groups of ten!
We had a fantastic time at our Halloween Disco!
Year 1 have been learning all about churches and we had a very special visit from Reverend Vernon. We found out all about his Whitburn Parish Church and his job in that church. We also shared our floor book with him to show our amazing knowledge about churches so far. It was a very interesting afternoon!
Year 2 had a brilliant day celebrating World Mental Health Day. We loved playing outside and planting our plants in the class planter. We also enjoyed doing things that make us happy with our friends.
In DT in Year 2 we have been working on building a chair for a bear. This week we completed our chairs and tested their strength and stability
Year 1 had a great time taking Paddington (and Tiny) to see the windmill in Marsden. We even made Paddington’s favourite marmalade sandwiches when we got back to school and they were delicious
