This week in Year 2 we have been looking at position and direction. We had a great time pretending to be robots and directing each other around the classroom to retrieve objects.

Year 1 had a fantastic trip to Safety works learning all about how to be safe in the summer.
Y1 enjoyed an early egg hunt to celebrate the end of term.

Today we have learnt about how London was rebuilt after The Great Fire. We designed our own ‘new London’ and talked about how it has changed since 1666. One of the children came up with a great idea about how we could really build our own London. So we took on the challenge and went outside into the sunshine to work together and create our new city. It was lovely to see the children working together as a team. I think we did a fantastic job!
In Year One we have been been practising measuring lengths with a ruler. We really enjoyed measuring and comparing different types of sweets today and of course getting to eat some at the end!
We have had a fantastic World Book Day and have enjoyed some lovely stories and activities.
Everyone loved coming together to see all the fantastic costumes to celebrate World Book Day. Even the staff got involved and dressed up as the characters from the book Peter Pan.
Year 1 has had a fantastic pancake day. Our favorite part was our pancake flipping race!
What a fantastic day we have had in Year 1! We started off the day by going back in time in a time machine. We took away all of our technology and swapped our whiteboards for chalkboards. We practiced quill writing, reciting times tables, racing and learnt all about old toys. We even learnt about punishments children used to face!
Thank you for all the effort you have made to make this day as special as it has been, the outfits were fantastic.
Definitely a day to remember!
