This week at Marsden Christmas preparations have begun. Our tree in the hall has been put up. A special thank you to the school council who helped decorate the tree.
This week the School Council visited The Word to look at designing a product to sell at the School Fayre. We had a fantastic time and designed two products. The best designs will be chosen and on sale to buy!
Which do you like?
On the 16th of November, the School Council visited The Word in South Shields. The aim of our visit was to design some vinyl lettering for the School Hall. We loved our visit and found out how different types of printers can create different products. As a special treat we made a snowflake bauble each using the laser printer!
As a group we came up with a few sample designs for the our letters. The next step is for us to decide which sample to use.
Last week School Council helped Mr O’Brien plant 150 trees. We look forward to seeing them grow!

Members of the school council visited Jarrow Town Hall last week, to gain an insight into the workings of a local authority. They met the Mayor of South Tyneside, he took them on a tour and answered questions about his role.
They were very excited when they had the opportunity to try on various hats, and hold the mace and a sword. The children enjoyed refreshments in the Mayors Parlour and learnt some interesting facts about some of the art work that is displayed there.
The children had a fantastic afternoon and the experience is something that they can reflect on moving forward in their role as school council members.
We had the very important job of voting for our School Councillors this week. Well done to everyone who wrote a speech, it was a tough competition! We had a 14 chair challenge, inspired by X Factor, to reveal our winners. Well done to:
