Y6 attended the Reduce Accidents at Play event at South Shields Fire Station. They participated in a range of activities led by the Fire Service, RNLI, Bikeability, Nexus, Northern Power Grid and South Tyneside Get Active.
The sessions were designed to ensure the children stay safe as they become older, more independent and are more likely to be out in the community unaccompanied. The children had a great afternoon and learned lots of useful information.
Year Four enjoyed time for colouring, outdoor time, sketching and yoga in between lessons today. Here is a glimpse of our fantastic yoga positions!

This week marks Children’s Mental Health Week. All of our children joined in a special themed assembly this morning which looked at the theme ‘Let’s Connect’. We discussed different ways in which we connect with others and the importance of having these connections for our mental wellbeing. The children all pledged that they would look out for one another and try to recognise when they might need to make a connection with someone else in school.
Marsden loved our first Friendship Friday. Some classes read with a friend, some played a game with a friend, EYFS picked a greeting for a friend and many more activities.

To celebrate Friendship Friday, Y2 created friendship bracelets for their favourite friends using rainbow coloured wool.
Everybody, including Ms Gilbert, Ms Hope and Ms Griffiths were given a bracelet by their kind friends, We all had great fun!
This week we are celebrating ‘Anti-Bullying Week’.
Year 6 had a very informative afternoon at the community fire station -finding out about safety around electricity, water, cooking and the metro – at the RAP ( reducing accidents at play) event.
This week in Nursery, we have been talking all about our families. After a lovely circle time sharing photographs of our families, we wrote a list of the people in our family.
Mrs Elliott and I were incredibly impressed with the fantastic effort the children made with their first mark making activity 🙂
What a fantastic first day EYFS have had! We have explored our environment, shared news, made new friendships, worked hard and, more importantly, had lots of FUN!
