In Year 2 we have been looking at “Our World” in Geography. We have been finding out about hot and cold climates. For this week’s homework the children had to choose a hot or cold country to find out about. Myself and Mrs Walton were blown away with the how much effort the children had put in. Well done everyone!!
A little drizzle didn’t stop Marsden having a lovely Christingle service together at Whitburn Church.
Lego club were having an out of this world time last week making their own aliens.
Last week, drawing club put their pencils to paper and were learning how to draw superheroes to link in with Anti-bully Week and Children in Need.
Congratulations to our winners!
Year 2 had a brilliant time at the Tennis Festival today!
Year 5 were set a challenge to explore what happens when you add water to corn flour. We discovered that it made an unusual fluid called oobleck which is a Non-Newtonian Fluid. This means that when pressure is added (e.g. you punch it) it acts like a solid and is hard. When you pick it up it acts like a liquid and is runny.
As you can imagine, the classroom was a little bit messy!
Please find below the Christmas Music for the choir to practise.

In Year 1 we enjoyed some French croissants or a pain au chocolat together with fresh juice as we found out about France and the language they speak there. We learned some French greetings and sang a few French songs. We even pretended we were in France listening to French music on a balcony looking at the Eiffel Tower when we had our snack. It was fantastic!
We are looking forward to learning more French throughout the year.
