Thank you to Mrs Marshall’s mam for making every class in school some terrific Tiny turtles to match with our maths work. We know every single Tiny will be cherished and impressed with the magical mathematicians in each class.

Congratulations to our winners!
Today a group of 5 Year 6 pupils went to OpenZone @ The Word to take part in a cyber security event. We were joined by some other schools from South Tyneside. The iBelong Cyber Event showed us how important password security is. We learned about how passwords are hacked, and had a go at cracking the code on the BBC Microbit. We learned about AI – Artificial Intelligence, and how computers learn. Our teams chose anonymous user names in the quiz to check how impersonation or identity theft can damage our reputation. We were Burger, Apple and Ronald!
It was a fun day, and we did really well at the quiz at the end.
Year 1 have been learning all about churches and we had a very special visit from Reverend Vernon. We found out all about his Whitburn Parish Church and his job in that church. We also shared our floor book with him to show our amazing knowledge about churches so far. It was a very interesting afternoon!
Year 2 had a brilliant day celebrating World Mental Health Day. We loved playing outside and planting our plants in the class planter. We also enjoyed doing things that make us happy with our friends.
On Friday, Year 3 celebrated World Mental Health Day by coming to school wearing something that makes us happy and began preparing our planter for the school’s buddy garden. We loved how the outside of our planter turned out and can’t wait to see it in the buddy garden!
The children enjoyed a stress-free day taking part in practical maths activities, mindful activities such as puzzles and watching a movie as well as relaxing spa treats!
In DT in Year 2 we have been working on building a chair for a bear. This week we completed our chairs and tested their strength and stability
Congratulations to our winners this week!
