This term our history topic is Ancient Egypt and we are loving learning all there is to know about the Egyptians. In design and technology lessons year 3 looked at Egyptian jewellery designs and created an Egyptian necklace of their own.
Y3, Y6 and the choir had an amazing afternoon recording for the South Tyneside Civic Carol Concert. They all sang beautifully and we can’t wait to watch the concert, involving other schools in South Tyneside.
This morning the EYFS shared a very special treat by joining author Nick Sharrat in a Zoom call to listen to his brand new book Oh No! Shark in the Snow!
We were the very first audience to hear Nick Sharratt read this funny, festive tale, and discover all the amazing things about his Shark in the Park series. He also gave use a mini lesson in illustrating.
We loved it!
Yesterday, we celebrated Christingle by joining together to sing and talk about the meaning of a Christingle.
A big thank you to Mr O’Brien for coming in to help us with our service.
We have been busy making our Christingle for our church service! We learnt all about the different parts and then enjoyed some of our sweeties!
We love to carry out practical work in science. Here is our latest work on sound; exploring pitch with instruments and creating our own pan pipes!
As part of our topic on The Romans, Y4 created Roman coin purses using their sewing skills to good effect. Well done Year 4!
Nissan recently visited Year 4 to deliver a ‘Lesson in a box’. As part of the session, the children were introduced to Japanese culture and how that feeds in to life at Nissan. The staff from Nissan left a project for the children to complete which will help them learn more about Japanese culture. We can’t wait to get started!
Nursery had a great time getting creative and preparing for Christmas!
The Christmas Elves have been busy over night in the Year 1 classroom! The children were super excited when they arrived this morning and discovered our classroom was full of glitter and sparkles! We watched CCTV that showed the Elves had been peeping through our window, dancing on our carpet and sprinkling magic dust over our Christmas tree! We then made some fantastic Christmas crafts which we cant wait bring home at Christmas time!
