As part of our music topic, Y4 have been learning to Beatbox. What do you think of our performance?
Today, Year 6 visited Nissan to find out all about car manufacturing and what it takes to be an car engineer or production worker. We used Lego to practise car assembly, visited the resident robot (who made Evie and Lucas pictures!) and then tested our skills to see if we could work at Nissan.
I’m sure Year 6 will agree that we have had an amazing experience and that the juice and cookies treat was particularly delicious! Congratulations to the following for winning the design a logo competition :
Runners up: Caleb and Fed
Winners: Jess and Izzy

Our topic this term in Year 1 is Fire and Ice. Today we have been making a background for our pictures. We talked about what colours we could use to show fire or ice. The children created their backgrounds inspired by Kandinsky’s abstract art. Tomorrow we will be adding our pictures to them!
We have also had a special visitor in our class, a lost penguin! We decided to take on the task of findings it’s family and the children created lost posters which we have put up around school. They also thought it would be a fantastic idea to put the posters on our website to reach more people. If the penguin belongs to you can you let us know!!
Congratulations to our winners!
We have been learning all about penguins! Today we became scientists and looked at how penguins keep dry. We learnt they have special waxy feathers. We all made our own waxy penguins and tested them by spraying on water. We all managed to create a waterproof penguin!

This week, the Nursery text of the week was “The Gruffalo’s Child” by Julia Donaldson.
We loved the marks the different creatures made in the snow and wanted to try this for ourselves! Unfortunately, we didn’t have any real snow so we used shaving foam and salt trays to make the different marks the characters made. We also repeated one of the famous phrases from the text as we made our marks, “Aha! Oho! A trail in the snow!“
Please find below the updated risk assessments for outbreak management.
What a fantastic first week back our Nursery children have had. Lots of learning and creating friendships with our new class mates. We’ve explored the environment, made New Year’s Resolutions and discovered all about the number 1!
Congratulations to our winners!
