The Year 6’s are enjoying a hearty breakfast each morning in preparation for their SAT’s exams. We are so proud of their positive attitude.
Year 5 had a visit from Asda staff, Tracey and Mavis, who brought with them exotic fruits from around the world to link with our Bali topic. Every person in year 5 got the chance to taste a fruit they had never tasted before, including the physalis fruit, which is actually grown in Bali!

The amazing Sophie from Y6 now tops our TTRockstars leaderboard with an eye watering speed of a question every 0.64 seconds! What a superstar! Here she is in action!
Check out the amazing skills of Deacon from our Year Six class! We are in awe of how quickly he can recall his multiplication and division facts! I think we may need to check if we actually have a super human at Marsden! I wonder if any of the adults could match his speed?
In Year 3 we have been reading ‘The Last Castaway’ where the characters become stranded on a desert island. Yesterday we had our own adventure. We visited the beach and took part in a ‘Survival Day’ where we learnt how to survive on a desert island.
First we learnt how to build shelters to keep warm. Next we went foraging for food in the rock pools. Then we learnt how to start a fire using fire sticks so we could cook our food. It was a fun filled day from start to finish.
Year Six started their Car Project today. The aim of the project is to develop design and making skills by producing a simple motorised model car from wood, powered by a 3-volt battery.
The cars will be raced in the school yard when completed.
In class today, the children began measuring and sawing wood for the basic chassis design. They worked well and got on with the setting up of the benches and the sawing very well.
