Breakfast was well deserved after our early wake up call!

In our science lesson this week, Y5 further extended their knowledge and vocabulary for the parts of a flower and their function. To help us visually see this, we dissected some tulips and named the different parts.
Last week, Year 4 worked with Mrs Hayward on an introduction to the use of algorithms when coding. We used count-controls and forever loops to create animations of our own names. We had so much fun and learned so much!
Today Y5 were introduced to protractors to help measure angles. We taped up the desks and used our protractors to measure the angles between the tape.
it was very tricky to line up the protractor and use the correct scale but they made excellent progress for their first lesson.
If you have one at home, why not measure some angles around the house!
Y5 loved putting the skills we have been practising into real games today! We were extremely impressed with how tactical the teams were to try and get the ball towards their post.
Y5 have started their new topic of angles in maths this week. To help use classify angles into acute, right angle, obtuse, straight line or reflex we made our own angle makers. This helped us to show the different types of angles.
Tonight was Marsden’s first ever Scrapbook Club session! Miss Corr and the children explored different designs and mixed media examples to begin creating their covers!
Today, we started our new topic of Vector Drawings using Google Drawing.
Our first task was to compare making pictures using shapes: first using paper and then using iPads.
This half term, Y3 have been developing their throwing skills to try and master the game of dodgeball. In this lesson, the children worked on their aim and agility skills so they could not only try and hit their target in the game but also dodge when they were the target!
