Year 5 did an amazing job of telling everyone all about their visit to London. Well done!
Hola! This week we Year Five had a brilliant time learning about Mexico in Geography. We found out about the physical Geography and climates within Mexico and demonstrated our knowledge by presenting a weather forecast. One of our highlights of the week was creating a Mexican dance, The National Mexican Hat Dance. To end our week we looked at Mexican celebrations and focused on Día de Muertos. We loved finding out about the Mexican traditions and we have started to make our own decorations.
We can’t wait to find out more about this fascinating country!
Well that’s it – SATs Week is finally over! Everybody at Marsden could not be more proud of how each and every one of these wonderful children have coped over the last few days. They have tackled each day with confidence, maturity and resilience. Whatever the outcome, you have shown just how special you are. Well done to our amazing Year 6 class!
Year 3 had a FANTASTIC day visiting the centre for life. We had so much fun exploring the museum, watching shows and taking part in a light fantastic workshop!
Congratulations to Marsden’s very first cohort of Digital Leaders.
A digital leader is a KS2 pupil who is part of a digital leaders’ team within their school, their role is to support the use of technology, particularly iPads across the school. They do a variety of jobs including:
- Promote the school website.
- Support the use of iPads and computers in school to support learning
- Share their skills and expertise with other pupils, classes and teachers.
- Assist teachers and other pupils in understanding coding applications.
- Set up equipment in classrooms for teachers.
- Lead lunchtime or after school computing / iPad clubs (when possible).
- Support teachers in using technology in the classroom.
- Have a good understanding of how to stay safe with technology and share that with others.
Year 4 have been revising their shape knowledge this week. To demonstrate what they knew about 3d shapes, they made these models and described the properties of them.
Thanks to Miss Barna in Y3 for the great idea to use cocktail sticks and marshmallows!
This afternoon Year Six had a brilliant time taking part in a drama workshop based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet. We created fun frozen pictures around the key themes of the play and transformed into the characters. We even made some of the sound effects!
It was a fantastic afternoon and we cant wait to see the play on Friday!
Y4 were very lucky to have Georgie’s Mam, Lisa, come to visit us to talk all about digestion.
Lisa works in the hospital and knows lots about our digestive system. She led a fantastic session which helped us understand about our food’s journey from mouth to stomach!
Congratulations to our Y4 children who finished 4th at the Sportshall Athletics Competition. They all tried their best, showed great resilience and had a fantastic team spirit. They represented our school brilliantly. Well done!
