Well done to our superstar runners who completed a 1.4km run this morning as part of the Great North Run celebrations.
The new Year 5 children have shown us how hard working they from the moment they set foot through the door. We’ve converted Roman Numerals, wrote about our “tall tale holidays” and had a creative afternoon.
We even managed to squeeze in our first trip to the library!
We hope our class of 2024 are enjoying their first days at their new schools after a very entertaining leavers assembly!

The new Year 5 children had a great time down at the latest Beach School lesson. They made sand sculptures, created moats and munched on some delicious smores! Even the teachers managed to sneak a tasty smore.
The new Year 5 children have had a very busy transition full of getting to know each other activities, Beach School and of course fun!
Yesterday we started our day off by playing a game of guess who by using clues about each other and creating a sneaker all about themselves. After break, we put our writing skills to the test by writing letters to each other before having a brain break using Just Dance.
Some of the children remember using the parachute to improve gross motor skills in Nursery and were very eager to try it out again. Of course we put a Year 5 spin on the game and the children had to dive under the parachute to find a number. They then needed to give a multiplication fact to match their number.
After lunch the children completed their self-portraits in the style of the illustrator Rob Biddulph before completing a team work task. The children were provided with a range of materials and challenged to build the tallest structure which could hold an apple for 10 seconds.
Hopefully the children had as much fun as I did and are excited for the year ahead!
Today Year Four enjoyed their third session of Beach School. We had some amazing rock pool finds, including crabs, starfish and sea anemones! What a morning!
