Y2 have been tasked with designing and making a stable chair for baby bear. In their first lesson, the children investigated what makes a structure stable. They made a sphere, cube, pyramid and cylinder and experimented to see how high they had to lift the board before the shape rolled off. By the end of the lesson, the children knew that stable structures are:
– low in height
– have a flat base
– are wide
Great work Year 2!
