We have been asked by the Local Authority to share this information with you in light of the recent hot weather:

Public Health England (PHE) has issued advice on how to stay safe in the sun as temperatures are set to rise.

You are advised to:

  • try to keep out of the sun between 11am to 3pm
  • apply suncreen that is at least SPF15 with UVA protection
  • wear UV sunglasses, perferably wraparound glasses, to reduce your eyes UV exposure
  • wear light, loose-fitting cotton clothes
  • drink lots of cold drinks
  • look out for others especially vulnerable groups such as older people, young children, babies and those with serious illnesses
  • never leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle, especially infants, young children or animals

You can prepare for the hot weather and find out more information by reading the Heatwave Plan for England on the Public Health England website.

Can we encourage you to send children to school with a water bottle and apply cream.

Thank you
